The Gerontological Society of America Names New Officers

The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) — the nation’s largest interdisciplinary organization devoted to the field of aging — is proud to announce its newest elected officers. These individuals were chosen by GSA’s membership, which consists of over 5,500 researchers, educators, and practitioners.

The officers are responsible for matters of governance and strategic planning and represent the Society’s four membership sections and its Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization. They will assume their new roles during GSA’s 67th Annual Scientific Meeting, taking place from November 5 to 9 in Washington, DC.

The principal mission of the Society — and its 5,500+ members — is to advance the study of aging and disseminate information among scientists, decision makers, and the general public. GSA’s structure also includes a policy institute, the National Academy on an Aging Society, and an educational branch, the Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education.
